Program Information:

Outdoor Technology is a hands-on, experiential, service learning program designed to immerse 9th and 10th graders in an outdoor-based community-focused curriculum. Students will be introduced to a broad survey of NCTC programs through a natural resources and environmental lens. The focus is on project-oriented experiences that emphasize applied academics. The learning is steeped in community service, outdoor education, and leadership training experiences. The program is designed to support the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) model, integrating education and health to improve each child’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development. This is a non-traditional class utilizing living laboratories and dynamic outdoor spaces as our classroom. Our learning will be field-based with multiple outdoor lessons and activities each week.
