Program Information:
Human Services students have a sincere interest in helping others. Through experience, community involvement, and classroom instruction, students will learn about working with preschoolers, school-aged children, people with special needs, and the elderly. These students are preparing for careers as teachers, counselors, social workers, child care providers, geriatric service providers and workers in the health care and mental health fields. The Human Services students are responsible for many of the activities at Northwest Career & Technical Center’s preschool.
The Human Services program is a college prep level program, and students will need reading, writing and presentation skills to be successful. Students accepted into the program must be able to pass an Agency of Human Services background check to participate in work based learning.
