At approximately 12:10 p.m., a lockdown was mistakenly triggered at St. Albans City School due to ongoing electrical maintenance. While the alarm was false, lockdown protocols were immediately followed as a precaution while the situation was investigated.
The St. Albans Police Department responded promptly and confirmed there was no threat. The lockdown has since been lifted, and the building has resumed normal activities.
We appreciate the swift response of our staff, students, and law enforcement in prioritizing safety.
Lockdown is implemented when the imminent threat of violence is identified on the campus, or the school is directed by law enforcement to implement Lockdown.
Students are to remain in designated classrooms waiting for further staff direction, until cleared by law enforcement or site administration.
