Fairfield Center School

Today, a student made an off-hand comment that caused me some concern. Out of an abundance of caution, I made the decision to call the State Police and evacuate the building. Due to the cold, I then chose to have the children head to our off-site evacuation locations. We had practiced this procedure in November, so today's relocation went very smoothly. All children were safe, with their teachers, and accounted for. The State Police arrived and we determined that there was no threat. Because we were so close to dismissal time, we chose to dismiss from the off-site locations rather than closing the roads again and bringing the children back to the school. We debriefed with staff once all children had been picked up. We take your children's safety very seriously and thank you for the trust you put in us.
