Students are offered meals to take home to help with the days they are not in school.

The 5 days’ worth of food consist of individual items and bulk items such as a loaf of bread, lunch meat, and milk. Please advise us if special meal accommodations are required for allergens or other special dietary needs. Meals are available for parents to pick up on Fridays between 12:00-1:00 in the north building.  Students may pick up after school in the cafeteria on Tuesdays and Fridays. Parents and students may sign up for these meals by emailing Mrs. Brunelle at tbrunelle@maplerun.org or by calling her at 527-6404. This will put you on a weekly list.  If you are unable to pick it up, please call to suspend your order for that week.  If other pick-up arrangements need to be discussed, please call her.  We understand that people sometimes forget to sign up or situations change so we will have some extras made up just in the grab and go cooler in the cafeteria.

Change to Morning Health Screenings:

As indicated in the April revision of A Strong and Healthy Year Safety and Health Guidance for Vermont Schools:  We are no longer required to conduct temperature screening for students.  Screenings should be performed at home before coming to school.  Individuals with a fever (100.4 or greater), a close contact with someone with COVID-19 during their infectious period (unless vaccinated), or who has COVID-19 symptoms should not come to school.  We will continue to greet and welcome students into the building since this has been such a positive experience.

APRIL IS NATIONAL SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS MONTH

*Teal ribbons were handed out to all Advisory teachers on 4/6 for distribution to students.  Pin on a teal ribbon to show support to all that have been sexually assaulted or harassed.

Daily Statistic: Of sexual abuse cases reported to law enforcement, 93% of juvenile victims knew the perpetrator.

    National Sexual Assault Hotline:1-800-656-4673

Know your rights as a student:

The Federal Title IX Sexual Harassment Grievance Process recently issued by the Department of Education in 2020 requires all high schools to follow a DOE Grievance Process. This process requires that “a full investigation and adjudication of responsibility for sexual harassment is pursued”

It also “holds schools accountable for failures to respond equitably and promptly to incidents of sexual misconduct.”

The act “empowers survivors to make decisions about how a school responds to incidents of sexual harassment.”

    SENIOR FAMILIES’ COMMUNICATION

    April 13, 2021

    Attention Seniors and Families:

Save the Date: Tuesday, April 27th at 6 pm for our 2nd Live YouTube Event for Seniors and Families.  During this event, we will share dates and details of Senior Week (June 5th - June 12th) and any additional information we may have on graduation plans. Link to be sent as the event gets closer.

On April 6, 2021, state guidance was updated, and we will be discussing as we plan senior events and graduation. Here’s a snapshot:

For those parents and guardians who have sent correspondence stating that you are willing to volunteer or donate, thank you; and we will be using Sign-up Genius. When we send that link out, you can sign up for exactly what you want to do. For example, we would list that we need 4 cases of water and you can sign up for 1 case of water, etc. Stay tuned for more information.

    Sincerely,

    Theresa Callan
