Students are offered meals to take home to help with the days they are not in school.

The 5 days’ worth of food consist of individual items and bulk items such as a loaf of bread, lunch meat, and milk. Please advise us if special meal accommodations are required for allergens or other special dietary needs. Meals are available for parents to pick up on Fridays between 12:00-1:00 in the north building.  Students may pick up after school in the cafeteria on Tuesdays and Fridays. Parents and students may sign up for these meals by emailing Mrs. Brunelle at tbrunelle@maplerun.org or by calling her at 527-6404. This will put you on a weekly list.  If you are unable to pick it up, please call to suspend your order for that week.  If other pick-up arrangements need to be discussed, please call her.  We understand that people sometimes forget to sign up or situations change so we will have some extras made up just in the grab and go cooler in the cafeteria.

APRIL IS NATIONAL SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS MONTH

*Teal ribbons were handed out to all Advisory teachers on 4/6 for distribution to students.  Pin on a teal ribbon to show support to all that have been sexually assaulted or harassed.

Daily Statistic: One in four girls and one in six boys will be sexually abused before they turn 18 years old.

National Sexual Assault Hotline:1-800-656-4673

Know your rights as a student:

The Federal Title IX Sexual Harassment Grievance Process recently issued by the Department of Education in 2020 requires all high schools to follow a DOE Grievance Process. This process requires that “a full investigation and adjudication of responsibility for sexual harassment is pursued”

It also “holds schools accountable for failures to respond equitably and promptly to incidents of sexual misconduct.”

The act “empowers survivors to make decisions about how a school responds to incidents of sexual harassment.”

SENIOR FAMILIES’ COMMUNICATION

Tuesday, April 6, 2021

Attention Seniors and Families:

I hope you had a chance to watch our YouTube senior event last week. If not, here is the video link: Senior Activities Informational Session. As we mentioned at the event, I will be sending you weekly communications.

I’d like to thank those of you who have reached out to me and your willingness to help with our end of the year senior activities! We will be in touch and will have another senior session in a few weeks.

All caps, gowns, and diplomas have been ordered and have arrived at BFA! It might seem early, but I wanted to ensure that I had them, and I thank you for your early orders. It is hard to believe that we have only 2+ months for graduation.

Main Street Graphics is thinking of our 2021 graduates.  Click here if you would like to order your senior a personalized lawn sign. We are also working with someone to provide the seniors options to purchase Class of 2021 Sweatshirts and other apparel.

If you would like to order graduation announcements through Balfour, below are the instructions. Please note that you can use whatever printing service you would like; however, I wanted to provide you with an on-line option.

Sincerely,

Theresa Callan

Graduation Coordinator

Online Ordering Instructions for Graduation Announcements

Go to www.balfour.com  (Note: there are 2 Balfour sites: Balfour.com and Balfourvt.com)

Click on Shop My School

Scroll to Official Announcements. There will be two choices, one w/names & one w/photos.

The choice with name means that your name will be printed in the custom announcement so there is no need for name cards.

The choice with photos means you can upload your photo into the announcement.

Both choices can be ordered in groups of 20 and include the two envelopes.

Be sure to check all the graduation items that are available

Please contact balfourvt@gmail.com with any questions.

Additional Info:

Hello Senior Parents,

It's that time!  We want to see your son/daughter's best baby picture for our senior class slide.  We are looking to have this photo be sent either to Chris Pepin (cpepin@maplerun.org) or Christine Trombley (ctrombley@Maplerun.org) by Friday, May 7th.

Thank you so much,

 Chris Pepin and Christine Trombley
